Requirements for outdoor & portable soundThe Cat is coming (Suitability of radio microphones)

A SOUNDS HIRE recommends:

There are a number of occasions where a sound reinforcement system might be required to be used outdoors, these may be from a loud hailer system as used at fairgrounds to cover a local item, to a more comprehensive distributed speaker system to cover a whole fairground.  These types of system are covered in a separate note.

More intimate occasions such as weddings sometimes have a requirement for a system that is more discrete and manageable.  While being able to give clarity to voices of the bride, groom and celebrant, a system such as this will also cater for music such as required for the brides entrance, signing of the register and perhaps some background for after the service.

The use of radio allows for portability of microphones, discrete use is achieved by selecting a late model miniature microphone.  The units used for lapel microphones, similar to those as used by TV news announcers, are virtually undetectable.  With the selection of appropriate models, these microphones can be used in a manner that suits the bridal party.  Whether it is stand mounted or handheld model for the celebrant, combined with small unobtrusive lapel models for the bride and groom, or simply a single shared stand mounted or handheld model shared amongst the party, these units provide crisp clear sound for all to hear.

A microphone is the most important part of this system, however it requires a suitable system behind it to power a properly configured set of speakers in order for those speaking to be heard.  Included in this system is the facility to play any music required before, during or after the service.

Where do the radio microphones come in handy?  Anywhere that a cable on the end of a microphone becomes a problem!

For outdoor events especially- weddings at the service; for the vows (bride & groom), the celebrant. and the readings;

For the wedding speeches in a larger venue where guests toward the back are unable to hear the speech maker;

For the wedding speeches where people speaking may be at any point in the room;

For the corporate product launch or presentation where a presenter needs the freedom to move away from the rostrum;

For the corporate product launch or presentation where responses from the floor are required;

For stage shows

Pricing of these systems is dependant on what is finally required to be supplied and may vary further depending what costs are involved in setting up the installation.
